20th Century American Immigration
Policies, Promises, and Outcomes
“Americans are always the villain in the story of 20th century immigration to America.”
I joined The Toxic American on Pirate Radio for a conversation about 20th century American immigration policies and their effects. We discuss the conditions around the passing of the 1924 Immigration Act and how the retelling of the history prior to its passing by Progressives distort the real need for immigration restrictions at the time.
We also examine the Hart–Celler Act of 1965 and the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and how these pieces of legislation were the perfect storm for disfunction in the future for American society.
Towards the end of the episode, we have a frank talk about the 1990 H-1B visa program and how damaging this legislation has been to Americans career prospects.
Finally, we talk about what comes next in the 21st century. Not just for America, but for the Western world in general; how identity will become the driving issue.
Enjoy,
Arthur
